Ukrainian cyber police, in collaboration with Europol and international partners, have apprehended a 35-year-old man from Poltava for orchestrating a large-scale cryptojacking operation. The suspect allegedly compromised over 5,000 corporate accounts since 2018, exploiting server vulnerabilities to illicitly mine cryptocurrency. The scheme resulted in $4.5 million in damages to the victimized hosting company.

Authorities seized critical evidence including mobile devices, computers, and cryptocurrency wallets containing illegally mined assets. Forensic examination revealed specialized mining software, hacked email credentials, and tools used to automate the malicious operation. The arrest highlights growing global coordination against crypto-related cybercrime.
